Derek is currently working on Disney’s ‘The One and Only Ivan’ for director Thea Sharrock. It’s using cutting edge techniques and technology to create the main characters of the film which are photo realistic animals. He has over 18 years of experience working in the film industry as a VFX editor but has continued to expand his career as editor for a number of independent featurefilms. The majority of his projects have been feature films but last year he worked on the major network television series for AMC - ‘The Terror’. He has worked closely with some of the most recognised directors in the industry Ron Howard ‘Heart of the Sea’ and ‘Rush’, James Gunn ‘Guardians of the Ga’ and Christopher Nolan ‘Batman Begins’ to mention a few. His enthusiasm and drive are at the centre of his dedication to making each project he works on a success. There is nothing more important to Derek than great storytelling and big screen action, making sure the money spent is up on the screen. His technical expertise and love of working as a team have always made him a pleasure to work with.
